Glenrothes 1976

Distilled in 1976 at Speyside’s Glenrothes distillery and placed in cask #2677, a second-fill American oak ex-bourbon hogshead, to mature for almost four decades. Bottled in 2015 at a cask strength of 47.4% abv, only 238 have been produced, each one presented on a wooden plinth with a book on the limited edition release.The nose has subtle malt notes amongst rich and creamy fudge and apple. The palate sees coconut mingle with oak and apple strudel, before a sweet finish with lasting oak influences.
