Every single barrel is a true single barrel – bottled at cask strength without combining it with any other barrels, unlike other batches that are bottled from a selection of several barrels blended together to a specific flavor profile. Barrel #V231 is a 14 year Canadian Rye, 140.72 proof, with a yield of 84 bottles.

Nose: Rye for sure, but there’s a wine and grape sweetness. Somewhat of a tight nose, though some mint also ekes out.
Palate: Orchard and stone fruits open up after some air and dance on the tongue. Mouthfeel is oily and filling.
Finish: Short-to-medium length, grape candy coats the tongue.
Distillery Information
Founded in 2014, Barrell Craft Spirits scoops up extra casks of premium Bourbon and Rye and bottles ‘em up at full strength. Each batch is completely different. Sometimes the coolest casks on the market are Tennessee-style Whiskeys, sometimes they’re Kentucky Bourbon. The good stuff could be straight, or it could be a finished wood. The point is that they find the best odd lots and “left-overs” that would more likely be tossed into a generic blend and sell it to us in all of their glory.
