Detailed DescriptionThis excellent whiskey from the Glendalough Distillery is matured in first-fill bourbon casks and appropriately cut to 46% using local Wicklow water. The original plan was to release this as a 12-year-old, as is traditional, but it was matured an extra year in honour of rugby great Brian O’Driscoll, a shareholder in the company. O’Driscoll wore the No.13 jersey for Ireland during his playing days. Each bottle depicts St Kevin, who founded a monastery beside the beautiful lakes at Glendalough.Glendalough 13 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey Tasting NotesNose: Notes of thick vanilla pod, citrus peels and cinnamon.Palate: Toffee pennies, dark chocolate, a touch of warming oak and a subtle fruity note as it develops.Finish: Spicier on the finish.Distillery InformationBeginning operations in 2011, Glendalough holds the distinction of being Ireland’s first craft distillery.
