Detailed Description
Gin from Nikka?! Oh yes, my friends, the folks at Nikka aren’t simply just whisky geniuses – they’re accomplished gin producers too! Produced in Coffey stills using a base of barley and corn, Nikka Coffey Gin features a selection of enjoyably vibrant botanicals, including amanatsu, kabosu, shikuwasa and yuzu, as well as sansho pepper, among others. As a large number of the botanicals are citrus fruits, the gin has multi-layered citrus notes and a zesty, long finish. Try it in a Negroni.
Nikka Coffey Gin Tasting Notes
Nose: Citrus-forward aroma with hints of Meyer lemons and menthol.
Palate: Unprecedented palate with wonderful sourness in the background and an explosion of lemon zest and orange.
Finish: Incredibly long and bitter, IPA like finish.
