It’s made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% corn and aged for 2 years in charred, new American oak barrels, and it scored 90 points in 2012 from the Beverage Testing Institute.Redemption Riverboat Authentic Rye Whiskey Tasting NotesNose: For a young whiskey, there aren’t unpleasant aromas, but there is a surprisingly large amount of dried herbs and five spice powder.Palate: That is something to expect in a gin, but not necessarily in a rye.
