The Pogues Whiskey is said to have the highest malt content of any blended Irish whiskey and it was developed by Barry Walsh and Frank McHardy. The bells will certainly be ringing out for this one!The Pogues Blended Irish Whiskey | 700ML Tasting NotesNose: Sweet-smelling malt with waves of toffee to follow.Palate: Smooth and creamy, toffee, vanilla, touch of dark chocolate, with some peachy fruit.Finish: Dark chocolate, fudge, vanilla.Distillery InformationFounded in 2003 by three close friends Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy & John O’Connell in Union Hall, West Cork, Ireland; West Cork Distillers was inspired by the proud history of artisan food & beverage production in Cork. The trio had some experience of this in their previous occupations, as Ger & Denis were deep sea trawlermen and John was a research & development scientist for some large blue chip food & beverage companies.
